Coronavirus Update

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE as of May 11

Another week has passed and we’re starting to see some easing of restrictions on the horizon. In fact, we received the official “thumbs up” this week from the City of St. Charles and the St. Charles Convention Center to move ahead with planning our TOP St. Louis National Finals the week of June 23-28. There will likely be some “social distancing” guidelines still in place that we will have to work through, and we’ll keep you posted on what those will be as we learn more. If you already have entries in for that show, please take some time this week to review everything for accuracy and make any needed adjustments. If you have entries in that show and no longer plan to attend, please remove them immediately so we can open up those spots for others. If you want to attend but don’t currently have acts entered, DO IT NOW! This show is open to all, but we anticipate a very high demand to get back on the stage, and the social distancing guidelines will likely have an impact on the number of acts we are allowed to accept. Please do NOT make any payments until you receive confirmation from us that your acts have been accepted.

The outlook for our National event in Kansas City is also now looking very positive as well. Please go ahead and review entries for this show as well, making adjustments or adding entries as needed. Again, do NOT make any payments until you receive confirmation from us that your acts have been accepted.

Anticipated social distancing guidelines have also had an impact on our TOP STARZ program. We have decided we need to cancel TOP Starz for this year (all locations) for the following reasons: 1) We will likely need all available space in the venue to spread out as much as possible, 2) This likely reduces the overall amount of time required of dancers to be inside the venue, and 3) The shortened season has made it difficult to extend invitations fairly. Those holding invitations for this year can use them next year instead, and those who have already registered will have their TOP Starz fees refunded. We extend our sincere apologies for the disappointment we know this cancellation will cause (we’re very disappointed too).

Entries are now being accepted for the FREE virtual competition, FINAL BOW A Tribute to the Class of 2020. This competition was created, and will be hosted by, the competition companies of the Dance Competition and Convention Cooperative (DCCC), of which TOP is a charter member. Deadline for entries is May 18. Click Here to learn more.

Also, regional competition REFUNDS FOR GRADUATING SENIOR DANCERS can now be requested. A form must be submitted for consideration. Click here to learn more.

Don’t forget about our TAKE 2 rescheduled shows in July and August. Click here to learn more.

Open video auditions are now being accepted for our SUMMER WORKSHOPS, including Pre-Pro, PROgressions, and Go Pro. To be considered submit audition videos by uploading to Dropbox via this link (click here). The link will take you to a page with a button near the bottom of the screen that reads: “Choose from computer”. Click that button, then browse to the video file on your computer that you want to submit. The video file name MUST include the solo dancers name. Double-click the video file to upload. THEN, email office@talentonparade.com with the contact information for what you uploaded so we can match everything up correctly. Deadline to submit video auditions is on or before May 31, or until programs fill up and close out. Submitting videos does not guarantee a placement and does not yet commit you to anything at this time. You will receive more information via email after we have reviewed your submission(s).

We are now also accepting video auditions for groups to perform with us at KIDZ ROC, our annual summer dance show held at the Clay Cooper Theatre in Branson, Missouri. We need around 15-18 routines and are looking for all styles, but upbeat and entertaining performances generally have an advantage. Shows are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26. We prefer average age to be 11 and older, but all ages will be considered. Be advised that props are not allowed due to limited backstage storage and stage size. Submit audition videos by uploading to Dropbox via this link (click here). The link will take you to a page with a button near the bottom of the screen that reads: “Choose from computer”.
