2021 Branson National

Event Information

BRANSON

SCHEDULE IS COMPLETE
The schedule for the 2021 Branson national competition is now complete. It is scheduled for Sunday-Saturday, June 13-19 at the Mansion Theater, 189 Expressway Lane in Branson, Missouri. Performance times for all studios have been emailed to studio directors, and a general schedule appears below. If you’ve not received your schedule confirmation, please check your email “spam” folder before you contact us. Also, please understand that we cannot even consider special performance requests for this show. There are simply far too many studios and acts involved for us to risk the integrity of the schedule, and the spirit of fair competition, with changes of this kind.

CHANGES AND CORRECTIONS
Your ability to make any changes or corrections to your acts is now limited. If, however, you discover an issue that requires attention you can email us at office@talentonparade.com to check your options.

SCHEDULE FLEXIBILITY
Even though we have provided to-the-minute information in your schedule confirmation, you should still use it as a general guideline only. All acts should also be ready, and willing, to perform up to one hour earlier or later than scheduled as it is not unusual for the show to run a little early or, on occasion, late.

THEME DAYS
Just for fun, each day of competition will be “themed” and the studio who best represents the theme for the day will receive a special trophy and recognition. Click Here for more information.

NATIONAL AWARDS AND THE PARADE OF CHAMPIONS
National competition includes selected acts being called back to re-compete in the Parade of Champions. Click Here for more information.

MASKS WILL BE OPTIONAL FOR ALL
Be aware that the city of Branson relaxed their mask mandates back in April, and the venue has followed in this regard. Seating in the venue will also be unrestricted. Please make sure your studio parents are prepared for this as we cannot enforce mandates that are no longer in place. If you and/or any other members of your studio family still prefer to wear a mask, then do so and we will happily respect that decision. Just make sure the same respect is extended to those who choose not to wear one.

DRESSING ROOM INFO
All available dressing rooms will be utilized, and we have plans to pipe and drape some additional dressing areas as well. Nevertheless, like most theatres, dressing space will be reduced compared to what you may be used to in a convention center setting. There will be no individually available studio dressing spaces. You will need to share, willingly. Dancers are strongly encouraged to arrive already dressed in their first costume of the day, and then leave in their last costume of the day. This should help eliminate at least 2 trips to a dressing area for every dancer. If assistance is required in a dressing room, limit to one adult helper per dancer. And please, limit your time in the dressing areas as much as possible. “Hanging out”, or “chilling” in the dressing areas is strongly discouraged.

PROPS
Although the wing space at this theatre is much larger than most, prop storage will be very limited. Plan for your props to come into the theatre only a few acts before they go on and then moved back out immediately thereafter. Under no circumstances will props will be allowed to be stored overnight. The good news here is that parking for prop trailers (and all other vehicles) is abundant and free. There is also relatively easy access for props to be moved into and out of the backstage area.

REHEARSAL SPACE
Rehearsal space inside the theatre is virtually non-existent. Most theatres like this are built with the idea that the show is ready to perform, and the audience is ready to watch. We strongly encourage your dancers to arrive fully rehearsed and ready to roll. If you must rehearse at the venue, you will likely be directed to one of the many grassy areas outside that surround the venue. Another option is to check with your hotel for available rehearsal space. We are aware of many situations where hotels have opened rehearsal areas for studios with large blocks of rooms reserved.

FOOD AND DRINK
Concessions will be available during most of the time the show is ongoing and can be consumed in the lobby of the venue (only water allowed in the seating areas, backstage, and in the dressing areas). Food and drink from outside the venue, however, will not be allowed in at all. To help in this regard, we will have a large tent with tables and chairs placed on the venue grounds outside where food and drink purchased elsewhere can be consumed. In fact, the entire venue is surrounded by nice grassy areas where you could set up lawn chairs, play outdoor games, have a picnic on a blanket, etc.

STUDIO BANNERS AND SIGNS
The venue is very strict about the placement of signage. Studio signs and/or banners will not be allowed to be placed anywhere within the venue or on the venue grounds.

DANCERS CAN SIT ON THE STAGE FOR AWARDS
Dancers are again welcome to sit on the stage during awards under the following guidelines: Only those dancers who competed in the block in which awards are being presented should be on the stage. Non-dancing siblings and/or other dancers from the studio who did not compete in the current block being awarded should remain in the audience. Only water is allowed on the stage. No food, no gum, no sticky goo purchased in the merchandise area, etc. Each dancer is responsible for removing any item(s) that she/he brings to the stage, including any empty water bottles or other trash. Phones must be silenced and put away. Dancers paying more attention to her or his phone than the awards being presented will be asked to return to the audience. Those dancers who would prefer to remain in the audience for awards are also welcome to do so.

PERFORMANCE MUSIC UPLOAD
Please upload your performance music right away if you’ve not already done so. Be aware that we cannot simply pull your music from what you uploaded for regional competition. The DanceComp Genie system assigns each music file you upload to a specific act in a specific show. It must be uploaded again for national competition. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

TOP ENTERTAINER AND PHOTOGENIC
Entry for these special awards should have been processed during your act entry period and will not be accepted at the door. If you still need to enter for TOP Entertainer or Photogenic you must email us at office@talentonparade.com prior to 5:00 pm (CST) Wednesday, June 2 with entry details. We will then contact you to make payment arrangements.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO RECORDING WILL BE PROHIBITED
Photography and video recording will only be allowed during awards presentations. This rule will be strictly enforced and has been established to protect the rights of studio owners, directors, teachers, choreographers, and costume designers. We also want to prevent unauthorized photos from being used elsewhere in a questionable manner. Professional performance photos and videos will be available from Alive Video and Photo for those who are interested.

CRITIQUES AND SCORES
Video critiques and digital scores will be available for you to view in the week following the show by logging in to your DanceComp Genie account dashboard.
